Corporate Worship

Definition: That time designated by my church when I gather with other friends of God. In this, I obey God's command to assemble with fellow Christians to praise God, encounter Jesus, fulfill His purposes in us as His Church, and participate in my eternal destiny with saints and angels.

Scripture: "Do not forsake meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another - and all the more as you see the Day approaching."
Hebrews 10:25 (NIV)

A.W. Tozer once said that "we are brought to God and to faith and to salvation that we might worship and adore Him." He also says, "I believe a local church exists to do corporately what each Christian believer should be doing individually - and that is to worship God."
("Whatever Happened to Worship" pg. 14,93)

What Tozer shared, is what we desire: Individuals who are worshiping God individually through personal devotions, and then gathering together with others for corporate times of worship.

In defining our worship style, we tend to stay away from words like "traditional", "contemporary" and "blended". We simply do worship and that includes hymns done in a variety of styles: contemporary choruses, scripture, prayer, video, etc. - Whatever will help us engage the most people. There are a variety of aspects to our corporate experience of worship, and therefore, a variety of ways to use your gifts to help glorify God through worship.

  • Praise Teams
  • Celebration Choir (Our Adult Worship Choir)
  • Drama
  • Technical Teams (Sound, Video, Lighting)
  • Ushers
  • Handbell Choir
  • Special Music
  • And more opportunities all the time!
