Pastors and Staff
Dr. Bob Bakke - Teaching Pastor

Bob Bakke is the teaching pastor of Bloomington Baptist Church. He and his wife Sally live in Burnsville and have three sons, a daughter, a son-in-law, and a black lab. A graduate of Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, Bob spent fourteen years serving Connecticut and New Jersey churches. For twelve years he served as an Executive Director of the Evangelical Free Church of America, promoting prayer and spiritual awakening. He is an author, and has produced television and radio simulcasts since 1994.
Presently, he produces the Global Day of Prayer in the U.S. with scheduled broadcasting that covers the earth each Pentecost Sunday. Bob's work affords millions of households and churches the opportunity to pray simultaneously. As one who honors the local pastorate as the highest calling, Bob uses his gifts as a preacher, teacher, networker and tactician for promoting, forging and cultivating prayer-based movements, domestically and internationally, that lead to the transformation of people and places. His designs are to ensure that the local church -- and BBC in particular -- becomes the principle agency for the revival of the Church and the advancement of Christ's Kingdom today.
Rev. Bryan Moak - Executive Pastor
Bryan is our Executive Pastor, with additional leadership in worship and small groups. He is a graduate of Bethel University and Seminary and has been in full time ministry since 1993, with ministries in Green Bay Wisconsin and Mansfield Ohio before coming to BBC in August of 2007. For Bryan, there is nothing more thrilling than being a part of what God wants to do to build His kingdom, and to have the privilege of seeing that happen in the local church, and specifically at BBC, is the "best gig in the world!" Bryan also serves as chairman of the Prayer First Group of Advisors for Converge Worldwide, and leads conferences on prayer and worship. Bryan is married to Kristin and has two children, Taylor (16) and Kyra (15). When he is not working, he enjoys golf, the Green Bay Packers, his yard, and being with his family.
John Knipp – Pastor of Student Ministries
John was raised in Sacramento, California. He graduated from California State University, Sacramento, in 2003 with a bachelor's degree in English and from Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary in 2007 with a Master of Divinity degree. He served as an Associate Pastor at 14th Avenue Baptist Church from 2003 through 2007. John married Tiffany, his high school sweetheart in 1995, and they have five wonderful kids, whom God brought to them through adoption: John Robert and Jake (17), Emily (14), Wade (13) and Miranda (12). While John was in seminary, the family prayed about what adventures God had in store for them. In the summer of 2007, God made it clear that the adventure was Minnesota! Even though the Knipps are all California kids, they love Minnesota, and John is thrilled to be working with the students of Bloomington Baptist Church.
Deb Nutting - Children's Ministries Director
Deb came to Bloomington Baptist Church in August of 2008 to be our Children's Ministries Director. She grew up in the Twin Cities, got her degree in Elementary Education from Gustavus Adolphus College and her Masters in Education from the University of Minnesota. She taught deaf and hard of hearing children for ten years, ending up in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. It was in Eau Claire where she met her husband, Bob, and where her two boys Danny and Joey were born. Deb worked at Salem Baptist Church in Eau Claire for nine years as Director of Children's Ministries and Director of Salem Sunshine Preschool. In 2006, God led Deb and her family to the Twin Cities where she worked as a Children's Ministries Associate for two years at Woodcrest Church in Eagan before coming to BBC. She loves organizing and creating programs that get children excited about God's Word and about getting to know our Savior, Jesus. Deb loves to travel with her family and looks forward to the day she'll ride in a hot air balloon.
Dr. Rich Massey - Senior Ministries Director

Rich is originally from Oakland, CA and Nancy from Chicago, IL. They met while students at Bethel College (now University) and were married in 1961.
