Children's Ministries

Partnering with parents to develop well-grounded kids

who serve God and others.

Welcome to BBC's Children's Ministries, birth to 6th grade. Here at BBC, we are committed to providing a variety of ways for each child to grow and become great for God!

Our ministry leadership team values Christian education that is Bible-based and readily applied to each child's life. It is our purpose to assist you, the parents, in your responsibility of childrearing and to supplement your child's home life by enriching his/her experiences.

Our dedicated team works to provide a complete program to support your family's desire to raise your child(ren) to genuinely and wholeheartedly love God and to serve Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.

Come join us and see how we are equipping kids to take on the world!

For more information on all Children's Ministries programs and opportunities contact Children's Ministries Director Deb Nutting: Monday- Thursday at the church office, 952-831-5046 or click Contact at the top of this page.

Nurseries (Sunday Mornings)

Infant Nursery (birth through 17 months)

Toddler Room (18 months through age 3)

Our goal in our Infant Nursery and Toddler Room is to provide the positive, loving care God desires for your child. The nurseries are available during both the Sunday School hour and the worship service, and the toddlers have a Bible-based lesson during the Sunday School hour. Please check your child in and give the attendant information about your child's eating, sleeping, and playing habits. We want your child to feel loved and secure while in our care.

Note: the Toddler Room is for children 18 months through age 3.   After your child turns three, he/she will be moved up to the preschool class the following September.

Disciple Land (Sunday School Hour; thru 4th grade)

On Sunday mornings year round, Disciple Land is the place to be for all kids from birth to fourth grade (See below for information about Impact, our 5th & 6th grade program).   Our enthusiastic teachers love God and love kids. They want to partner with parents to develop well-grounded kids who serve God and others. Disciple Land meets during the Sunday School hour beginning at 9:15 AM Sundays.

Children are involved in Small Groups where their faith is nurtured with similar-aged peers through activities that reinforce the Bible truths. The children are challenged to make their faith their own, experience growth in their Christian walk, and to develop relationships with peers and Christian adults.

During the Sunday Worship Service

By experiencing worship together with their families, children will internalize the importance of corporate worship. Step  by step, as children mature, they can understand more and participate more fully in the worship experience. In the meantime, we have some helps for families with young children:

  • The nurseries for infants and toddlers are fully staffed during the worship service for children birth thru three years old.

  • For older children, we offer Children's Bulletins at two age levels (3-6 yrs. and 7-12 yrs) which are activity pages that engage children in the same teaching theme as the morning's worship service. Look for them to the right as you enter the Worship Center.
  • Kids' Worship is available for three year olds (by September) through 1st graders during the latter part of the service. The children are dismissed during the offering for this age appropriate teaching/activity time.

There are pews immediately to your left as you enter the Worship Center that are available for families with young children. They are in easy access to the Lobby should you need to leave during the service to comfort your child.

Pioneer Clubs (Wednesday Nights; 3 years old - 4th grade)

Pioneer Clubs logo

This dynamic fun-filled group meets from 6:30-8:00 pm Sept. - April on Wednesday nights. Kids 3 years (as of September 1) to 4th grade earn awards for Bible exploration, arts, cooking, camping, sports, hobbies, personal development, relationship building, and more. We have fun singing songs, playing games, and learning to apply God's Word. And you won't want to miss all the special events we offer throughout the year!

The leaders know the kids and encourage them to develop hands on skills and to really experience the Bible's impact on their lives. Your child will love the challenge of being a Pioneer! We meet weekly in the Children's Wing, so park in the rear parking lot and enter the church through the north door.

Impact (Wednesday Nights and Sunday Mornings; 5th & 6th grades)

Fifth and Sixth graders are ready to be challenged with bigger ideas and activities, but are not quite teen-agers yet. Our programs are specially designed for their age, and intentionally keep them enthusiastic about church and growing in their faith! As part of this dynamic program, we offer opportunities for these kids to do service projects to better our community and make an IMPACT for God's Kingdom!

Christmas

A meaningful musical presentation with a Christ-centered message is prepared by the children during Pioneer Clubs and Impact on Wednesday nights in the fall. The program is presented during the second Sunday morning service in December. All children are welcome to join us! (scroll down to see more photos)

Summer VBS (Vacation Bible School)

Summer is an important time to reach out to children in our neighborhood and we do this through our engaging VBSprogram. Our goal is to reach out to children with Bible truths and with God's love, and help them to come to know Jesus Christ as their own personal Savior.  All children are welcome!   Stay tuned for 2010 dates and registration form.
