Dear Warriors, 2-27-10
I have now transferred a majority of your addresses, so this is the first Weekly Warrior sent from the new computer. I should be able to be much more consistent with these updates from now on. Thank you for your patience.
Welcome to those who have just joined our prayer team and are receiving this for the first time. Thank you for your commitment to pray. We look forward to sharing with you how God is answering.
1) Last Sunday Jeff visited Bloomington Baptist Church, but had no idea what kind of opportunity awaited him there. After speaking at a morning breakfast, he met a family hosting a young Japanese lady for a few months. She had arrived at their home recently and this was the first time she came to church with them. I sat with Erika in the service and translated for her. I also let her read from a Japanese Bible I use for display. She kept reading and reading and was very impressed by the level of devotion and sincerity she sensed in the people. I ended up spending most of the afternoon with the family, who treated us to a Japanese lunch and then opened their home, so I could talk with Erika more. Please pray for Erika to come to know Jesus as her host family loves her with His love. Pray that I may be able to get a Japanese Bible to her soon. (Psalm 27:1, "The LORD is my light and my salvation—whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life—of whom shall I be afraid?")
2) Chris has a couple of finals to take this next week before Spring Break, so please pray for him to do well and to be able to get the sleep he needs. Also pray for a job for the summer, as well as for housing. (Isaiah 40:31, "but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar like eagles; they will run and not be weary, they will walk and not be faint.")
3) Rachael has a two week break between basketball and track seasons. We have set a goal for her to take (and pass) her driver's license test sometime during these two weeks. Pray for her to pass and that she will begin to enjoy driving. (Colossians 3:17, "And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.")
Thank you for praying,
Jeff and Barb Chapman
