The economic crisis is very real to many of us.  We have seen our 401K’s be reduced by one third and we have seen the jobless rates increase in the US as well as the world. Many of you might be like me and wonder what should be learned from this crisis.

Art spoke at a local church last Sunday and used as his text “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be satisfied”.  We are approaching the “hungry season” on the Mambilla Plateau.  I couldn’t help but think that maybe this time of the year, a deeper understanding of what hunger and thirst will be realized and the reflection of what kind of food and drink will satisfy our spiritual bodies.

Praise God:

−    God is in control. He knows our every need.  Ps 50:15 says “Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you and you shall glorify Me.”
−    For the women’s work room.  The ladies have started to crochet baby clothes.  They are selling them faster than they can make them!
−     Our container came and in it were four solar ovens we purchased for the widows.  I purchased some small bread pans in Abuja the last time I was there so soon the ladies can bake bread and sell it.
−    For the Life Line Centre where we have over 700 people on ART drugs.

Please Pray:

−    For the right candidate to become the Program Manager for The New Tomorrow’s Project.
−    For wisdom as we go to other local governments with the prevention message and the Orphan and Vulnerable Children Program
−    For protection in travel.  We make many trips back and forth to Abuja.
−    For wisdom in dealing with staffing issues.
−    For Larry Amundson and his son Ray Job.  They have both been sick with reoccurring malaria.

Life in Nigeria

Our container packed over a year ago arrived in December. (I am so glad I was not here to see it actually being brought in through the narrow road to our house!)  Our Life Line Centre now has medical furniture in the examination rooms, we have many items needed for the rest house, we have ladders for a safer work area, and we have clothing for the needy.  We received many items put in this container because of people willing to sacrifice for God’s work and we thank Him for them.

We thank God that He has given you the desire to pray for us and this ministry.
